Your adventure begins with a visit to the Daniel Johnson Monkey and Sloth Sanctuary, one of the island’s most popular wildlife attractions. You’ll have the chance to meet and interact with friendly capuchin monkeys, who love to play and climb on visitors, and hold adorable sloths; these slow-moving creatures are a highlight for animal lovers you also get to take pictures with the scarlet macaws and other animals at the Sanctuary. The sanctuary provides a safe environment for these animals, allowing guests to learn about their care and conservation while enjoying a hands-on experience.
Next, you’ll head to the Roatan chocolate market where you’ll be treated to a delightful chocolate-making demonstration. Discover how cacao is grown and harvested before indulging in a tasting of rich, artisanal chocolate, crafted from locally sourced beans.
You will all visit a local rum distillery. Here, you’ll enjoy a tasting session of Roatán’s finest rum, sampling different varieties and learning about the island’s rum- and rum cake making tradition. You’ll have the opportunity to purchase bottles of the local rum and chocolate to take home as souvenirs of your island experience.
